# Here are the finalists for the 2022 Shirley Jackson Awards

Every year, the [Shirley Jackson Awards](https://www.shirleyjacksonawards.org/?ref=andrewliptak.com) sets out a juried list of books that it honors for outstanding achievement in the literature of horror, the dark fantastic, and psychological suspense." It's always an interesting list of novels and stories: books that harken back to the strange and unsettling stories that Jackson is best known for. 

The best part? Finalists get a neat memento for appearing on the list: an engraved pebble that they can use to [stone the winner with](https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/1948/06/26/the-lottery?ref=andrewliptak.com).
